Grapefruit
First being crossbred in the 18th century, grapefruits have once been mixed with another kind of citrus grapefruits belonging to the same class. Since the late 19th century, grapefruits have become popular as edible fruits, while they were just a part of an ornamental plant before. The United States soon became a major producer, having fields in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California. China had the fruit introduced in the early 20th century.
